Choose a stable, sheltered spot
Support or recess the contoured basin according to its instructions. Keep it away from walkways and strong winds, with space for drainage and maintenance.

Add water and connect power
Winter heating uses plug-in power, rather than solar energy. Use an outdoor GFCI-protected supply that meets local requirements.

Keep the spray low. Check regularly.
A water sensor controls heating, but water level, outlets and surrounding ice still need checks. Follow the shutdown guidance in the manual during extreme cold.

A few things you may be wondering.
Will it run all winter without freezing?
FrostFlow is designed to keep the basin water flowing down to 14°F (−10°C). The heater warms the water inside the basin; exposed nozzles, pipes and the surrounding ground can still ice over. In extreme cold or strong wind, follow the shutdown guidance in the manual.
Is it solar-powered?
No. Winter heating needs steady power, so FrostFlow plugs into an outdoor GFCI-protected outlet. Looking for solar? See our original solar pond fountain kit.
How much electricity will it use?
The heater only runs when the water sensor calls for it, so energy use depends on air temperature and wind. Milder days use very little.
When will it ship, and can I get a refund?

Is it suitable for fish or as a bird bath?
FrostFlow is a decorative fountain. It is not intended for fish, as a bird bath or for drinking water.
